Sunbeam Lodge accepts referrals by community agencies, Children’s Aid Societies, community health facilities, and private placements throughout the province of Ontario. Special preferance is always given to referrals from within the Regional Municipality of Waterloo Wellington County. Placements can be long term, short term, respite, transitional care, and emergency situations. Referrals can be made in writing, by phone, or online directed to:

To ensure the referral process happens quickly and in a thorough manner, Sunbeam Lodge requires the following documentation included in the referral package:
Social history
Educational reports
Medical documents and history
The decision to admit the child will take place once the referral package is received, intake staff has met with the child, the family, and agency.
